Temperature Calibration
Temperature probes are connected to a handheld meter and inserted into Chamber 3 of the Ageing Chamber and left for a period of approximately 20 minutes. A successful reading of 140.0 ±0.1°C displayed on the handheld meter indicates the chambers are maintaining temperature. It is important that on completion of the calibration test, the probe tray is set aside to cool before returning to storage.
Air Flow Calibration
An air flow indicator is connected to the filter inlet at the rear of the O14 to show the operating air flow rate. In order to comply with the standard, which requires an air flow rate suitable to change the air 10 volume times per hour, an air flow rate of 250 ± 50 cc/min is required. A low air flow reading, even within the range, can mean that the filter needs replacing. The life of the filter is highly dependent on the environment in which the Ageing Chamber is operating.
